Happy Hour Friday: Caliente’

This week has been a blur.  Whereas last week I was praying for Friday; this week it has slipped up on me, and I’m almost not ready for it!  Almost.

But really, who doesn’t want it to be Friday?  ;)

I spent last weekend in Dallas with my best friend and business partner buying for our gift shop.  Fun! Fun! Fun!

But… for everyone who thinks it’s just fun, let me clarify: it’s hard work.  And it’s exhausting.  Three full days of looking at thousands upon thousands of items and trying to make decisions on what will be a hit and what to pass on is not easy.  Sadly, many times our own personal choices must get pushed aside for more business savvy choices.  C’est la vie.

Since driving home Monday evening, the rest of the week has been filled with post-market follow up.  Never an easy thing–and even more sobering is tallying up the financial damage.  Yikes!  8-O   LOL  I feel like I’ve been running (in place) non-stop and am in desperate need of some sleep catch-up.

I believe I’ll celebrate Friday with this drink when I finally make it home from work today :D   My brother-in-law found this recipe and shared it with me.  Of course we tried it out, and it’s fantastic!  The coolness of the cucumber and sweetness of the elderflower liqueur balances the spice of the jalapeno.  This is a 4 star drink.

 Calienté

3 cucumber slices

1 jalapeno slice

1 oz tequila

1 oz St Germaine (or other elderflower liqueur)

1 oz fresh lime juice

In a shaker, muddle together cucumber slices and jalapeno slice.  Add ice, tequila, St Germaine and fresh lime juice.  Shake well and strain into martini glass.  Garnish with a cucumber and a jalapeno slice.

Happy Friday, Friends!  It’s going to be a great weekend–no matter what! :)
