Happy Hour Friday: The Worm Bucket

Have we made it?  Is it Friday yet?

Please say it’s no joke and I’m not going to realize in 2.3 seconds that it’s really only Thursday.

Friday?  Phew!  Thank Goodness!  I thought I’d never make it….

Now don’t start asking me why this drink is called “the worm bucket.”  I have no idea.  In fact, I’ve never even been to the Prop Stop Bar or on Tickfaw River.  Somewhere, some how and at some time C. found this drink online and decided he’d like to try it.

It was a good call because, despite the name, it’s a wonderfully refreshing pool-side cocktail.  I thought worm was some sort of allusion to tequila in the mixture, but (mercifully) there is only rum ;)  Maybe it’s a vague reference to fishing–is fishing big on Tickfaw River?  I’m certainly not the one to ask.

Anyway, point is–it’s good.  You should try it.  And that’s all I have to say about that.

 The Worm Bucket

from Prop Stop Bar on Tickfaw River

3 oz rum

1 1/2 oz pineapple juice

dash grenadine

1 oz sprite

Mix it all together, serve over ice.

Happy Friday, Friends!  Kick the weekend off right, and enjoy every minute of it. :D

  • I agree that the name sounds pretty awful but the drink recipe sounds great! Very refreshing… :)

  • Somethings I wonder how people come up with these names! What a name for a drink! It doesn’t fit the drink at all, because the drink itself looks great whereas the thought of a worm bucket isn’t. :)

It’s called a Worm Bucket because the drink at the bar where it was invented, The Prop Stop, serves it in an actual worm carton (the same container they sell worms for fishing it) & tops it off with a gummy worm. It’s quite an adventure if you ever get the chance to go!

They don’t serve them in worm boxes anymore, just big cups. Also its not a worm bucket without a gummy worm or two. Prop stops recipe is not only rum it is 5 different clear liquors. Rum only probably taste close to the same….but its not.
