Happy Hour Friday: Omazing Iced Tea Spritzer
I have to apologize for my extended absence. There was no “Happy Hour Friday” post last Friday for a few reasons. Work has been crazy busy plus my gardening chores have kept me outside so much in my spare time that I’ve had very little left over for blogging. But the best reason of all is that I spent a lot time last week and weekend catching up with my brother and sister-in-law who were visiting from Florida and staying with me and C.
We had such a fabulous time together! There was a lot of eating (a LOT), a lot of laughing, and a good bit of pool time. We even had my sister and brother-in-law stay with us for the weekend which made it almost a family reunion. LOL Almost, because we were still missing one sister and a niece and two nephews.
I could have had several recipes to share with you, except I was too caught up in all the fun to stop and snap pics of any of the delicious food we consumed. C. grilled us the most enormous steaks that he had been aging for the past 3 weeks. DE LIC IOUS. Then there were the pork shoulders that he smoked and we made into pulled pork tacos. O. M. G! There was potato salad; fresh salad from the garden; homemade salad dressings; fresh garden salsa; homemade biscuits; cinnamon rolls; onion rings; and somewhere in all of that, bacon. LOL
Um… can you say “diet time?”
Anyway, while we were lounging around the pool we enjoyed a few pitchers of this Iced Tea Spritzer. It was such a hit with everyone, my sister-in-law christened it “Omazing.” :D Straight from this month’s “Southern Living,” this drink is definitely going into my entertaining arsenal.
4 cups cranberry juice
2 cups sweet tea flavored vodka (like Firefly)
juice of large lemon
In a pitcher, mix together cranberry juice, vodka and lemon juice. Serve over ice and top off with Sprite. Garnish with fresh lemon wedge.
Easy entertaining at its best!
I hope this Friday finds you all well and looking forward to a wonderful weekend.
Happy Friday, Y’all! It’s Happy Hour Time!
