Happy Hour Friday: Basil-Orange Mojito

Happy Friday, Friends!  We made it. :D

Even though it’s been a short work week, it has felt like it would never end.  I guess post-holiday work days are always like that.  It’s difficult to get back into the swing of things once we’ve had some extra time off to relax.

But today is Friday, and we are once again on the brink of a weekend full of great potential and endless possibilities.  :D

This mojito recipe comes straight from the June edition of  ”Better Homes & Gardens.”   I have to admit, I was scrambling for a drink to post today.  Nothing had inspired me, and everything seemed a little “meh.”  lol  Thank goodness for magazines! I can almost always find something new to try in BHG or “Southern Living” or “Coastal Living.”  For today, it’s BHG to the rescue!

 Basil-Orange Mojito

handful fresh basil leaves

large, juicy orange wedge

spoonful sugar

1 1/2 oz rum

club soda

ice

In a tall glass, muddle together basil leaves, orange wedge, and sugar.  Add ice and top with rum and club soda.  Give it a good swirl with swizzle stick and enjoy.

And now, it’s Link Up TIME!!!  (Please remember to grab my “Happy Hour Friday” button to post on your site if you are linking up.)   Slainté!
