Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

…or should they be called Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars?  Meh…  Sometimes I get things a little backwards  Embarassed  But I’m not sure that really matters in this case because whatever you call these, they are De.Li.Cious!    Heavenly.  Decadent.  Sinful.  Rich.  There are many adjectives that aptly describe these treats.  I’ll leave it up to you to work out.  I’m too busy stuffing my face.  Wink

A friend made these and brought them to my house for one of our football parties a couple weeks ago.  I was impressed when he confessed to making them himself, and he was sweet enough to share the source of the recipe:

BakingwithMelissa

And he was right, they are super easy to make.  The recipe yields a 9×13 pan {which is A LOT}, so make sure you A) invite lots of people over to help consume these  OR  B) package them in cute containers and give away as gifts.  You’ll want to eat the whole pan, but you really shouldn’t. Smile

 Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

2 sticks butter, melted

1/2 sleeve butter crackers (such as Ritz), crushed

1 lb bag powdered sugar

12 oz crunch peanut butter

24 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix sugar and crushed crackers in a large mixing bowl.   Fold in peanut butter and melted butter until all ingredients are well-incorporated.

Spread mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 pan lined with wax paper.

Melt chocolate in a double boiler using this method.

Spread chocolate evenly over top of peanut butter mixture.   Chill to set.  Cut into bite-sized pieces and watch your will power slip away.  Tongue Out
