Simple Strawberry Amaretto Dessert

With the days getting longer and the temps getting warmer, I begin to spend less time in the kitchen and more time outside. That means I want meals that are easy to prepare and don’t need a lot of planning ahead. And if it can be grilled outside, even better!
I created this strawberry dessert from ingredients I had on hand. It turned out pretty good and made a beautiful presentation. And the best part, it’s guilt-free. ☺

 

 

 

Strawberry Amaretto Dessert

2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1/2 panettone, cut into bite-sized chunks

1 cup Amaretto 

1 8oz pkg Cool Whip

In a small bowl, marinate strawberries in 3/4 cup Amaretto.  Set aside.

In a serving dish (such as a compote, seen in picture above), layer 1/2 of panettone chunks in bottom.  Spoon strawberries/Amaretto over top, then add remaining panettone chunks on top of that.  Drizzle remaining 1/4 cup Amaretto over top layer of panettone.  Spread Cool Whip on top and chill until time to serve.
